This is from a workshop where I was given a monochrome print of André Derain’s painting, which I had not seen it before. I was tasked to reproduce it using my own interpretation of colour and tone, in 45 minutes. I later found out this painting represents André’a fauvism style. Fauvism adopts vivid and unnatural colors and bold compositions. It has a sense of Impressionist brushstrokes. I really like it and will experiment more.
