Save the Rhino

Do you know more than 1,050 rhinos were killed in 2016 in South Africa alone! The number of rhinos killed in 2016 was roughly the same number of those born. It is an epidemic!

I have made the above 3-D papaercuting craftwork on the back of my signature painting – In Search of Light.  People quite often ask me what the rhino is searching for. This is all revealed when you turn this craftwork around to see what is behind the forest – Spread our Love.

Please join me to support rhino conservation. Below I’ve painted two abstract paintings to show the brutality of slaughtering rhino for its horn.

The demand for rhino horns have driven up the cost. By weight, rhino horns cost as much as gold on the black market. It is a common misconception that rhinoceros horn in powdered form is used as an aphrodisiac or a cure for cancer in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM 中醫). In fact, no TCM text in history has ever mentioned such prescriptions. In 2011, the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine in the UK issued a formal statement condemning the use of rhinoceros horn!
